Youth African Games

The African Youth Games (AYG) is an international multi-sport event held every four years to complement the current All-Africa Games.

The first games was hosted by Rabat, Morocco in 2010 from 13 June -18 July. This international sportive event has been created by Lassana Palenfo, current President of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA). The idea came in 2006, but the very first African Youth Games only occurred in 2010.

The 2nd African Youth Games took place in Gaborone, Botswana's capital City from 22 to 31 May 2014 and Egypt came first on the medals table.
